Hey guys, if you look in my recent history I've posted some problems i've been having with my p5b deluxe. Mainly hot boot problems and stability issues.
To make a long story short, it started out as a computer with a p5n-e.
P5N-E
Windows Vista Ultimate
2x1GB Corsair Dominator 1066
evga 8800gtx ko
silverstone 750w zeus
e6300
Antec 900 case with 2x10k rpm raptors
Well I got t he e6300 to 3.6 ghz after adding a southbridge passive cooler and an actively cooled northbridge cooler (tower design from thermalright). It passed a 12 hour stability test just fine, but many many crashes and stability problems later - I ordered a new mobo and had to rma my ram.
I ordered a p5n-e this time and it has only been mildly overclocked. The stability issues usually involve me leaving my computer to find that it rebooted itself. If at that point while it was still running and I shut it off, I would have to wait ~10 m inutes before it would boot up again. It would start booting, not POST, and the video card fan would go 100%. I normally waited a while and then I would boot it up and it would come around and post just fine.
-----------------------------------------
Fast forward to today. I've been running f@h on a stock clock e6300 for a week or two. Tonight I came home and found my computer turned on with no video output (this had also happened a few times). It worries me that the video card might be bad with all of the crashes being video related. It also worries me that the motherboard might be having some problems related with the hot boot issues. Neither of these parts is over a year old, so I can easily replace them under warranty. What do you guys think it is?
On a side note, I had a problem a month ago with it not wanting to boot. I ran a memtest on it with both mem sticks in and it failed with ~10 failures. I tried and tried the rest of the day to replicate the failure and couldn't. The memory is less than 7 months old from corsair.
Thanks guys!
