I have tried in ARS so here gos.

I have
Abit AN8 SLI
2x 1GB Corsair XMS cas2 PC3200 dimms
opteron 144
antec tru power 2.0 480watt
evga 7900gt
Fortissimo II sound card
Samsung 160gb sata
WD 320gb sata

I have

HTT set to 300mhz
HTT multi set to 3x
memory set to pc200 1/2 divider

it boots and runs prime95 and memtest fine at 2.7ghz but memory is only at 150mhz. If I try to set memory any higher the board locks up. I overclocked the memory out to 230mhz with a 1:1 divider and the cpu at 2.1 ghz so its not the memory. Is it the motherboard now holding me back? The HTT gos up to 310mhz only if
the memory is set really slow. I want to get some decent memory bandwith with my cpu overclock. I set the timings at cas3 and DDR voltage to 2.75 still the same results.

basically I followed those steps over here [H]OCP
and I figured out my
HTT is good to 310mhz
CPU is good to 2.8ghz
memory is good to 240mhz

the problem arises when I try to mix those 3 parameters and get good memory bandwith and a decent CPU overclock. anything over 2.4GHZ and the memory will only work at pc200 settings? I don't get it. can anyone help? :(

I kept getting a post code of 4.0 before

man, now it gets weirder. I relaxed the timings on my ram and went to 245mhz and locked my system. after
I rebooted I tried again to set ddr266 and it booted. I then set timings lower and kept going

I now have

HTT 311mhz
CPU 2.8ghz 1.5 vcore
RAM 200mhz (pc400) cas 2,3,3,6 timings 2.75v

prime95 and memtest are fine for over an hour, I wonder what happened? not that I am complaining now

I've gotten my AN8-SLI to a 300 FSB but it was not 100% stable with random lockups and weird USB issues. I know it's the motherboard because the same opteron 144 runs perfectly in an epox 9NPA with the mem setting to 166. I just don't think the AN8 is a very good overclocker, it has turned out to be a dissapointment.
