Hi!
I recently bought the speakers Creative Inspire 5.1 GD580 and since then I'm having some sound problems.
I have the speakers connected to a Playstation2(trough a optical cabel) and also plugged to a SoundBlaster Live Player 5.1 card on the PC trough the sound card digital(coaxial) output as described in the speakers manual.
While playing or watching DVD movies on the PS2 the sound is fine and I achieved good quality, but on the other side, I have lots of problems on the PC.
Before this situation I had the Creative DTT2200 speakers connected to my SB Live and in the speakers control panel I have an option to test the sound channels with a voice testing all 5.1 channels(with DTT2200 speakers the test run ok), now with the GD580 I can't hear all the channels testing sounds... I only hear on the Front left/right channels... the others(center and 2xrear) is complete silence.
While watching DVD movies on the PC, I also doesn't have sound on the central channel(I can't hear the voices) only surrounding sounds on the other satellites. The same is happening with PC games, I can give an example: Call Of Duty.
In this game if I change the sound mode to "EAX" I can't hear my gun firing on the central/frontal speakers, I only have the surround sound on the other channels. But if I plugged my old DTT2200 speakers and select "EAX" sound, I have a great sound in the game.
This happens with other games, not only this one.
I've tried connecting the speakers on other output of the sound card, sellecting/desellecting "Only digital output" on the SB Live card drivers", updating drivers for the sound card(WinXP Pro)... everything without sucess...
If I change my sound card and replace it by an Audigy 2 it will resolve this situation(so I can be aple to hear on every speaker on games/dvd)? Or there's something I not doing or doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for the help.
