problems installing xfx 6800gt

so im trying to get my computer up and running with this new card. I have installed the card and when i power up the system it goes beeeeeep beep beep really quickly and then nothing appears on the monitor. anyone have any idea whats goin on?
 
MAKE sure it is seated well. I've come across the same thing and freaked out to. Most mobo's have a lock for the AGP card make sure it's locked in. Good card BTW!!!
 
did u make sure its seated properly? and also check to make sure its plugged in...other than that....i dont know
 
You have to connect a cable from the power supply to the graphics card. Theres a socket on the edge of the card to attach it to the power supply.
 
The beep code means something. Look in your manual for a guide. They will say something like "1 long beep and 2 short = bad video card". Check that it is pushed in all the way and retry.
 
i have an antec trupower 330 , i wonder if thats the problem, but normally wouldnt the system start up and then lock up in windows if the psu wasnt good enough?
 
you cant update your bios if you cant boot it. Uhm..how many amps is your PSU putting off on the +12v rail? Remember just because you have a high watt psu doesnt mean its better..I'd rather have a 300 watt power supply putting off 30amps to the 12v rail rather than a 500 watt psu putting off 19amps to the 12v rail

check the +12v rail (yellow cord) and see how many amps its putting off, as most high end cards today are extremely 12v power hungry
 
well i put my radeon 9800 pro back in for now, so i think ill try flashing the bios
 
my mobo supports agp 8x, it talks about like .8v 1.5 v and the such, what is the 6800gt? it has like 2 things as opposed to 3 for my radeon 9800 pro, does that mean it is 3.3v instead?
 
I wouldnt bother flashing your bios, its an unecessary risk, epecially if you don't know what your doing. I think your power supply is fine but check the manual with that card. Triple check that it is seated properly in the AGP slot, and that your connecting it properly to your power supply. Try alternate connections to power supply if you have em.

His Tue330 should have 17A on the 12V rail.
