Wow... my account is still existant here ! :p

Anyways, here's the problem. I'm trying to install WinXP Pro SP2 on my roomates comp.

Specs of comp are as follows.

Asus P5GZ-MX Mobo
1 GB 667MHz DDR2 Kingstron Ram
160GB WD HDD
42 in 1 USB card reader
Pioneer 18 DVD-RW
Everything else is integrated.

Nothing special, but, the installation just stops everytime when it says "Setup is now starting up Windows". The computer isn't frozen. It just stops doing anything. And if I take the CD-Rom out, it gives me a BSOD.

I'm going to try a different version of windows, but, anyone have any idea what it might be if it's not my version of XP ?

Remove all external devices and try to install again.

If that doesnt work try running memtest on the box. Bad ram can do stuff like that.

I'll take note of the code next time I try installing.

I'm also gonna try a different disc to install it... could be that my copy ain't working very good. It's the first time I've ever used it.

As for disconnecting all external hardware. there isn't much to disconnect. The computer is pretty much as basic as it gets, except for the card reader. But I already deactivated every USB port on the machine.
