hey everyone.

ive been having some trouble recently installing windows seven on my desktop PC. i had a previous install running just fine but decided i wanted to remove all of my peripherals, and do a straight clean install and slowy add everything in after doing some partitions etc... so the wierd thing here is when i try to do the install, i get all the way past the first few reboots and then i get a BSOD, right at the same part each time.

is there possibly anything to do with IDE vs. SATA and whatnot? i want to install the OS to my SATA HD while leaving all my other HD's unplugged, however my DVD drive is an older IDE drive...

could this be the culprit? ive done memtests and the RAM is doing just fine, everything seems to be A OK... its just strange that I succesfully installed from a USB thumb drive before but now I cant install from the DVD...

anyhow, any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Two things to check, dirty head on your DVD drive, or scratch or other debris on your DVD disc.
