Problems installing programs and games.

I have hade this problem for a while and have not idea what to do.
Some programs and games I cant install, the latest being Call of duty2 and Sonicstage.
Often the installation is interrupted.
I have disabled everything in the systemtray including antivirus programs then Iam installing and it doesent help.
I have Windows Xp Pro Sp2.

Thanks for any input.
 
No no message but I have noticed that the installation just dies and goes to the desktop when the installation is at 100%.
Is a reformat the only solution?
