Problems importing chinese characters on Outlook and IE.

Hey guys, not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'm having some problems regarding displaying Chinese characters on windows 7 Home premium. Actually I'm not having any problems reading or writing it on websites/word etc. My specific problems involve importing emails from Outlook 2003, and favorites from Internet Explorer 6. They are fine in my old machine but after importing to windows 7, i get garbage text. Anyone know what the problem or solution is? Thanks
