Well I just got finished with my build.., Took me a month and a half, and 2 RMAd parts later I finally have it working and stable. So I go to overclock it and I hit 3.06ghz at 437.5FSB using the default clock multi of 7. I can boot and run windows it is solid stable with orthos for 6 hrs, but when I go any further than that it posts then when it hits windows, windows tells me it is corrupted. Clocking it back down will fix it but can anyone tell me why it is doing this? I am idling around 40c and 50c on load @3.06Ghz. I don't think its because its over heating, and the vcore is at 1.4125v. If anyone could tell me why and help me get to 3.2ghz which is my goal that would be very much appreciated.

My specs just so you were wondering:
Windows vista ultimate 32-bit
Asus P5N-E SLi
Corsair DHX PC-6400 800mhz@5-5-5 stock
e6550 2.33ghz stock
ATi HD3870 stock clocked
750w psu
Hitachi 7k250 160gb
Samsung 160gb
Hitachi 7k500 500gb

The high FSB is killing you, caused by the low (7x) max multiplier of the CPU that demands high FSB to achieve high OCing. Your memory should be OK but is starting to be significantly OCed as well.

Those are the two areas requiring action.

Memory is easy, you can make sure you are giving it 2.1V (the max covered by Corsair under warranty) and that is about all since you are already at loose timings. Run memtest86+ at the "lockup" FSB and see if it will pass a run of memtest. probably will and that would rule out your memory.

FSB speed is all about the MCH/Northbridge. All you can do is rework the thermals (redo the thermal paste and mounting hardware of the MCH/Northbrigde heatsink/heatpipe and get a fan on it). Raise the MCH voltage some once the thermals are tuned up.

That 7x max multi is a bear, see my sig, your board must be able to do very high FSBs to get where you want to go and that requires everything on the board to be in tip top working order.

(note, I did not look up your CPU and I am assuming from what you said the max multiplier is 7, if not, raise it and lower the FSB).

I tried doing the clock multi of 8x but my bios wont allow me, that and or the clock multi is locked at 7 which I am not quite sure. But I have another concern, My MB chipset is at 45-55c when at load. Is that high for the chipset temp or is that temp fine?

Disabled Speedstep/C1E?
Raised MCH voltage? (Northbridge)
Depending on your heatsink, consider buying a HR05/HR05SLI (bendy, so it can get out of the way). That'll help cool down the chipset.
