I am trying to install windows xp onto my new machine and am having great difficulties doing so. This is my system:
**DFI LANPARTY UT NF4 ULTRA-D**
*AMD ATHLON 64 3200+ PROCESSOR S939*
** OCZ DUAL CHANNEL OPTIMIZED 2X512MB DDR PC3200**
*SHAPPIRE X800XL PCIe 256MB*
**ZALMAN CNPS7000B-ALCU**
*80G and 120G Seagate HD*

the computer boots up and i can get into the bios but when i start the windows setup, during the part where it is scrolling thru drives at the bottom it locks up, never in the same spot but always during the portion of the set up. i have tried unplugging everything except my video card and CD drive and still i run into the same problems.

Any help would be awsome

It's likely this is a hardware issue. Possible bad equipment (PS, mobo, CPU, memory). I'd start testing your RAM first, run memtest86 for several hours/overnight and see if it produces any errors. 0 errors is the only acceptable result.

Are you OCing?
