Hello All,

Alright after 4 hours of being pissed, I've folded, I'll try and get an answer to my problem here.

I just got a Leadtek Geforce FX5950 Ultra.

Now, what happened since I installed it is that the system spontaneously reboots - in windows - during my reformat - in bios - everything.

So I'm thinking it's the card - Nope - Went over to my friends house - works like a charm.

I don't know what going on. I'm 100% sure it's not a bios issue as all of my settings are correct.

I know the cpu is not overheating as it doesn't budge over 32C.

I was thinking perhaps the PSU was getting too juiced - Well, the problem with that is that when I remove power to my CDRW and my DVDRW the problem happens - just less often.

However when my 1 HDD is connected, 2 cd/dvd burners, and some fans - no lighting - nothing else - it doesn't even make it past the end of the windows boot screen.

I don't know where to go from here - it seems doubtful that my PSU can't handle it - it's a Thermaltake PurePower 480W PSU.

What i did find odd though was that my 3.3V rail was coming in at 2.80-2.84V in the bios - this seems way too low.

Could this be my problem?

I hope someone can help me out with this.

Thanks.

I had the same problem with an A7N8X. I replaced the power supply and that did not solve the problem. Look on the motherboard and see if you can find any leaking capacitors. Ive read articles about A7N8X mobos randomly rebooting and faulty capacitors were to blame. If thats the case, good luck in RMAing it.

But wouldn't that be happening all the time then?

I mean, this started the second that I put in my new card,

try swapping out the 5950 with somthing else and see if it still does it
