After shutting down my system (which had been on for ~2 weeks 24/7), the system failed to power up again after I installed a new stick of RAM. I uninstalled the new RAM and found that the system still didn't startup. Clearing the Bios didn't seem to help either.
But after disconnecting all the unecessary peripherals from the back (leaving VGA and keyboard), the system was able to power up once again (both with and without the new stick of RAM). And then after plugging in all the other peripherals, the system was still able to power up without any issues.
Any idea what caused the problematic power ups?
Could there have been something improperly grounded in one of the peripherals which prevented the PSU from powering up as a safety measure?
