Well my friend bought my old compaq. And the power supply went and so i gave him an old powmax psu like 350w and it worked fine. so we left and came back and it froze so we restarted it and it booted up but nothing showed up on the monitor. so we try a diff mon and it still wouldn't show up then a used an old voodoo card and no avail. does anyone know what could be wrong now? thnx
 
99% chances its still the PSU -- "powmax". . .I never liked having electrical equipment with an explosive sound in the name. Most people will agree these are unreliable.

Other specs, OS, temp, does it still post/boot?
 
no the compaq logo doesnt even show up, but the psu was pretty much brand new except i bought a new one cuz it couldn't handle my specs. Windows Xp. Old compaq with like 495 mhz and 256 mb ram
