i have z5500 and creative xfi extrem music ,i use digital coaxial cable, its good that ideea?
i need advice and a good driver.thx
somethimes the sound is mute, what is the problem

With that particular card you are probably better of using analog connections. You will probably get better sound using analog mode. The X-fi's don't have a Digital ENCODER so everything will be in stereo except for 5.1 encoded movies if your using the correct software. That also means your games will be in 2.0 stereo when using a digital connection.
As you can see it will be better to use analog IMO....

I think that you are experiencing a problem that is common with X-Fi, the digital output is disabled after a reboot, you need to manually disable it and enable it again in audio console.

this is the problem.you have perfectly right.
i use digital, its a small difference but is the difference.
after reboot must change manualy ,switch-them and work perfect, sound is great, thx logitech
for this speakers.

problem solved, reinstalled windows and all its great.work always digital without problem,i chose from the start of instalation digital io,and work great.
Close topic.thx

Maybe you stumbled onto the solution. Possibly alot of people try to add digital speakers after they have set the driver to default to analog connection. Makes sense:)

problem is the software from creative, problem is out digital io or mic,a new instalation of windows and problem is solved

so what does this mean if i have one of those cards? is it a bug ? and what do you mean a new install of windows and its fixed. i just got my card on friday and installed it and formated my drive and did a new install will i be okay?

With these drivers if the card is originally set for analog connection and then set for digital output everytime you reboot the system the digital output will be off. If you set for digital when first installing the drivers everything should be ok. I don't think a entire OS reinstall is needed just clean out the drivers and reinstall those and set the card for DIGITAL as the default output. -should work fine.

its better with digital, signal its very clear in compare with analog.
