Well, today I loaded up the bf2142 demo which i have been playing all week, and i get into a server, and right where it puts you on a team and you are to select a kit, the colors start to distort and it went to the blue screen of death! I had rebooted from there and there was lines in the screen and it gets to where you log in and the desktop shows up and then it freezes, reboots, and the monitor shows blank and does not show anything anymore. If you reboot, the process will repeat. I had been playing bf2142 demo the whole week and bf2 for weeks with the fan speed on the video card at 5%. Do you guys think it was overheating, or just something went bad? I am going to RMA the card, what do you guys think.

Uhh...why do you have it at 5%? I'm not sure if you can melt the card, but hella instability if it's really hot.

Download ATI Tray tools and set it to atleast 35%-65% when gaming. You can do it manually, or such that it kicks in when you're over a certain temperature.

I'd thinking overheating is the problem?

At what point exactly would you run the fan at 100%? I would really keep an eye on the temps in the future. Obviously if you can't get the card to work at all anymore, there's probably something wrong with it. Stick it in the freezer for awhile maybe......
I don't have that card. I have an nVIDIA card and I usually run the fan at 100% when gaming and 35 percent when not.

Sorry but that made me laugh.
Why on earth did you run your fan at 5%?
Thats a surefire way to kill it.

Did he manually set the fan speed, or was he just reporting what the automatic speed control was doing? If manual, ummm, oopsie?

5% speed for the stock fan basically does nothing. Suicide. Have you tried keeping the video card's fan at least 50% and experiment it before posting here, lol?

When i get the RMA replacement one should i buy a new heatsink with it or just increase the fan speed...i mean this thing is hella loud and sounds like it sucks.

My card has a fan capable of being pretty loud too.
I created a new fan profile and set the fans max speed to 70% which works well for my overclock, giving a max temp of 69C.
You may get away with a little less fan speed if not overclocking.

Yes, but what i am saying is do you guys really think i should buy a new heatsink for it...would it work just as well as a new heatsink with the stock HS to increase speed by temperature? I think i may upgrade though because my computer is fricken loud...maybe ill pick up a new HS for my PD805 too, the intel one and the ATI one combined is LOUD.
But anyways, would you guys reccomend any heatsinks?

The Zalman VGA cooler is one of the more superior ones on the market, I also suggest getting As5 Thermal paste to help woth the transfer of heat.
