Hi,
I have no sound in Windows 7 Ultimate 64. I am using a X-fi gamer and using there newest driver.

I tried Driver Sweeper and reinstalled drivers. Move the card to a different pci slot. One minute it works then the next it doesn't then it does but with static. Can some one please help? I am losing my mind here.

Nope, finally got it working early this morning. The new drivers from Creative wouldn't work. After a lot of bs and searching Google I found drivers from a guy named Daniel K. They worked. I think my next sound card will not be Creative, I'm thinking of trying Asus Xonar.

I returned my X-Fi gamer. Drivers were terrible, and it would constantly disappear from my Sounds.

My problem with it came back. So I got tired of it and decided to pull the card. Now I'm using the on board sound. Downloaded the drivers installed them and wow it worked. I cannot return mine. I bought it used last year worked fine in XP and was alright in Vista for a while. It had a problem there so when I went to Win 7 I could believe how hard it was to get it to work. The sound card still works, I checked it in another machine with XP,

I haven't had any experience with a Creative soundcard in years(about a decade, actually), but I can recommend the Xonar without reservation. My little Xonar D1 is wonderful, and I've yet to have any kind of driver trouble since I've installed it. That's been about 2 months.
