Problem with UVD

I have problem with UVD.
CPU E4300 on 2.8GHz and I have HD3870 with 8.2 CCC on XP OS
I have instaled K-lite codec pack the last version and I watch all mvk throught MPC.
When I look some series or HD movies my CPU goes to 50% usage and that is why I think my UVD is not working.So what is the way to enable UVD in MPC or must I use some other tool? Is UVD only for HD DVD and BR FULL(26Gb or more) or it should work with any HD material?
