I just hooked up my computer to a plasma and I can't get it to display right. Its a Samsung 50" 1080p Plasma and I am running 2 260s in SLI. If I set it to 1920X1080, the taksbar and icons get cut off. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. Any one have a suggestion?

And have you disabled overscan in the video card's control panel?

There may be a few other settings to tweak in there, just be sure you write down the old settings so you don't forget them.

I disabled overscan on the video card but I can't find the option for it on the tv.

Well certain plasmas have funky "native" resolutions that aren't always cut and dry like LCDs. For instance my Panasonic 720p plasma lists and works only with the "native" resolution of 1080p otherwise its cut off and no amount of overscan adjustment fixes it. You also might have the wrong refresh rate since that is also not cut and dry on all plasmas.

Do some research on google and you should be able to find the correct resolution.

This is true, at my work they use plasmas in the conference rooms and all of them have this problem, some of them have resolutions like 1280x1024 but are still wide-screen because the pixels aren't square they are rectangular. You could try some of those resolutions.

Well, I used a VGA cable and it works fine. I will use that for now and try to figure out the HDMI later.

same problem with my panasonic 32 720p....i actually have to use 1080p to get it to work

Friend has a sammy plasma as well. I think we fixed it w/ the TV's advanced settings. Not the remote fill, zoom, 16:9, etc...there's an actual size 1 or size 2 option in the menu. It basically zooms it out so that you can see the full taskbar, etc.
