Problem with usb headset

I reinstalled a fresh copy of xp, and my sennheiser USB headset was working fine. I installed the beta drivers for the audigy 2 ZS and the headset still worked fine.

The sound comming from the speakers was a little too deep so I installed the normal full version of creative's driver suite and programs. The headset now has a horrible distortive click/buzz/scratchiness going on. I uninstalled all the drivers, even disabled the hardware in device manager and I still had the same problem.

Then I did everthing I just mentioned all over again ((worked after clean install, etc) and I'm back to the same problem. How come after a clean install the headset works and after the regular creative drivers are installed it screws up and uninstalling/disabling doens't help?

I need the headset to work as USB so I can use it only for vent while the games come out through the speakers.

Ok I tried reinstalling windows but this time without the sound blaster....still having the same problem when using the onboard sound card. The headset works fine on my laptop though.
Here we got with yet another reinstallation
 
Bump.

I tried getting a logitech 350 USB headset and it has the same problem as my Sennheiser PC-150. Horrible distorted sound comes out of them whether using ventrilo, or a game or windows sounds.

This happens even if I reinstall windows and whether the audigy 2 ZS is in or out.

I started having this problem when I got my A8N motherboard. What settings could be causing this? I have the onboard sound disabled in bios.

Please help =(
 
Um... Senn PC150 doesn't have USB... Unless u have the 155... Does it have audio jacks too? Try those. If not uninstall your creative drivers and try again.
 
yeah its the 155 sorry, now I tried the audio jacks on the onboard sound card and the main speakers on the audigy and it works....wish the USB still worked though =( I dont understand why it worked fine on a gigabyte mobo and on this asus it doesn't.
 
If the audio jacks work then forget the USB. The only difference the USB will make is that the PC155 have a integrated USB soundcard, but it's only better than your computer's regular sound if you have something like a Creative Live.
