just finished my build and unlocked my x2 555. But have been running into some odd problems.

I have a gigabyte ma785gmt-ud2h mobo and a cooler master hyper 212+ with 2 fans.

I have the fans set up like case fan <--- 2nd cpu fan <----- 1st cpu fan (came with HSF)<-----

For one, I may have not installed all the drivers and things I need to, if that is a possible problem let me know.

1. ran prime95, about 5 min in green artifacting. Immediately shut my pc off.
2. decided to hold off on overclocking for the time being and about 5min into a streaming video, artifacting and crackling sound. Shut off.
3. Disassembled pc, made sure everything was in order, cant guarantee that it is. I plugged in the 24 pin connector and also the 2 4 pin power connectors on the other side of the HSF. Do I need those, I dont have a GPU if that matters. Reapplied HSF, the thermal paste seemed fine on the first application, covered the middle 2/3 or 3/4 rectangle in center of cpu. the HSF is slightly, very slightly off center. But I cant move it as thats where all the mounting stuff puts it. Maybe 1/10 of a mm is exposed on one edge.
4. Prime95 a few minutes in, screen goes black. Fans slow down, less lout, but the pc is still on. Have to restart
5. prime 95, all seems fine but then pc just shuts down/restarts.

Using speedfan there are temp1,2, and 3 listed, no cpu or anything. Coretemp has core #0 but list it at 0 degrees, all other programs do the same. How can I get something that tells me the temps. But those temps were all under 51 degrees. Coretemp has the VID at 1.3750v.

What step should I take from here?

could the problem be the ram or anything else?

I am a first time builder so I have no experience with this stuff.

edit: turned off acc for now. Work shift now so I'll play around with it when I get home, any help would be greatly appreciated.

edit2: just ran prime 95 again, after 3 min with just the stock dual core artifacting and crazy noises. So is the problem not the CPU, help! Temps were under 40

Sounds like vcore issue. Open up CPU-Z and find out what your cpu's true VID is under full load and set your cpu voltage in the bios to match this value, and even give it a notch above that.

want can someone further explain, sorry but I'm very new to customs pcs.

also some other notes

I ran prime95, the small option and no problems and relatively low temps. Ran memtest, going to run memtest86 tonight. But after a bit the same crash of artifacting happened.

In prime95 it passes test 1 but immediately crashes at 2. I forgot the number, I posted it somewhere, it ends in 43

also going to run 3dmark to see if its the vid card/integrated video

heres a picture of OCCT after crash, reset bios so its just the stock dual core.
