problem with secure wireless connection

Im tryin to set up a secure wireless connection for my laptop i got a Belkin router and i go into the router and select the level of encryption i want set the pass phrase and then enter that pass phrase into my laptop but when it connects i get this "connection is limited..."

why? and how can i fix it

Check that the router is serving as a DHCP server (assigning IP addresses)
Double check that you have the same type of encryption set for both devices
Triple check that you have the same pass-phrase in both devices.
