problem with sata hdd

So I ordered one of those 70 dollar maxtor 200gig sata drives.



Put it in and try to format it thorugh the computer management console and my comp freezes and unfrezzes etc.


any ideas?

specs
msi neo2-f
3700 sandiego
2gigs of ocz plat.
2x80gig ide 2x120gig ide

it's running now,it's doing the same freezing though while formatting,I'm gonna just let it go and see what happens : /

if nothing I'll be calling maxtor tommarow
 
I tried a diffrent sata cable and still nothing changed.


I can't find any sata drivers for this board either (MSI k8n neo2-f)

Also I'm using a OCZ modstream 520watt with the sata power cable.

any help i will <3 you for :)
