Hi!!

I just bought my first LCD at Best Buy, the 19" Samsung 931bf. Is really nice, but I have two problems that I don't know if are normal or not:

1. The text, when is black with withe background, appear surround by a "red halo", like if it is a mixture of black with red, which is really annoying to me

2. The Contrast is 2000:1, which looks like great -sometimes even too much -, but the red appear "so red" that is no natural. I have played with the different settings and if I want a "normal red", then the contrast and the bright should be set really low.

Is this behaviour kind of normal? I was thinking about taking the Samsung 205w instead, which cost, at Office Max, pretty much the same. Any advice? I not a hard gamer, so the main use is surf the web, photo, and dvd. Also I have in mind to buy the PS3 in the future, so I wonder if with this LCD I will be able to see HD. Thank for your help

DUDE ive heard that those monitors are completely crap
they have some kinda overdrive chip in them that gives the 2ms response time and causes that to happen. If i were you i would return it and get something else asap.

Yeah i would definately get the Samsung 205BW
or even the LG L204WT there both around 300 dollars now
I have the LG and i love it great for gaming
and ive heard good things about the 205bw
i don't think you can go wrong with either
also the LG has 2000:1 dynamic contrast and 800:1 normal and 5ms response time . also these 2 monitors are widescreen which i love i came from a 4:3 19inch and the widescreens just seem to have a more natural viewing .
