my video cards and memory sticks (ram... w/e u call it) arrived today by mail and i started the comp for the first time. but suddenly my motherboard (on the bottom right corner) the sigh 'C1' came up. I called teh customer serive (BFG) and they say that its the memory problem. Well so i even when out and purchased another (same brand, Corsair) one. it still gives me the same message 'c1.'

im pissed now...

currently as im writing this.. im on hold for BFG's technical support..

maybe you guys can help me out.

i have three sticks of CORSAIR XMS2 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model CM2X1024-6400PRO. ( I copied and pasted it from the website)

are they even compatible? according to the motherboard it is...
um.. is there somethign about corsair ddr2 xms2 or that specific type that i dont know about?

help me plz!!!

dont boot the machine with all the sticks in. Just put one stick in if it boots try the other one etc. Also make sure your mobo supports the memory you bought by checking there website.

If your machine does not boot with any of the sticks u got PROBLEMS my friend!

Also make sure you delete all previos drivers for your old GPU and install the latest for the current GPU, drivers u get with graphics cards can be out of date by the time the hardware is sold.

Do you have the SLI setup properly in the BIOS and drivers options and I take it you have enough POWER from ur PSu

here is what i would do:

- revert to your original setup (video/mem) and insure that still works.
- insure all your drivers are up to date (yeah, i know, they probably are)
- write down any bios settings you may have altered from default. reset the settings to default or minimalistic.
- insure system works
= be sure you guard against static
- as suggested above, remove current memory and replace with one stick at a time (insure you have the single stick in slot 0/1 as advised by your mobo manufacterer)
- test
- if functional, replace the new installed stick with the other, test.

if you have a friends computer you can use, try the memory there.

basically, eliminate until it works. deal with one change at a time.
