I have a dated system I am setting up for home theatre and games for the kids in the garage. Any help or input is appreciated.
I have:
3 identical Dell 2400 MP Projectors.
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
2 GTX 460s in SLI. SLI is working with latest drivers
AMD 4 core at 4 GHZ, 16 gigs or ram.
Onboard sound with hacked Dolby Digital Drivers.
The projectors are placed in portrait mode because I didn't want a 4 foot tall screen 18 feet wide. I wanted 7 foot tall and 16 feet wide. (or there about)
I was looking to make the screen 2:35 aspect ratio.
I had set the projectors at the native resolution but Nvidia control panel wants to run them higher at 1600x1200. for a screen that's 3600X1600 resolution.
When I try to set them at 3x1 in surround, it will not "accept", it's all greyed out. So is setting up any of the controls for it.
I tried setting the resolutions to native resolution to see if that would fix it and the 3rd screen starts shaking like it has advanced Parkenson's disease, so I left it at the higher resolution.
I can use it like this spanned with VLC player and stretch the media player across the screens but if you maximize it, it works in one screen.
I read that some old sound drivers can stop SLI from working but it shows up as SLI enabled on a single 1920x1080 screen and on the projectors. So I hope that its not the case. I wanted Dolby Digital pumping through my Yamaha receiver for 750 Watts of 5.1
Just cant get surround to work.
My Daughter has a birthday on the 23rd and I wanted to use the system for her party to play movies for the kids. So I have a week to fix it.
Any help appreciated!
