Problem with newest firefox and lost internet

I was just sitting here surfing, and figured "well, I gave the new version a bit of time to work out some bugs, I guess I'll update from 1.5.0.12 to 2.0.0.4". Well, after the upgrade, I lost my internet browsing abilities...........from Firefox and IE!

I was connected to the internet, because I could ping websites, play online games, check e-mail, etc., but I couldnt get a website for anything in either browser. I double checked my settings, checked the firewall, tried system restore (I know - just be quiet). I even checked the firefox FAQ, but it was a bunch of generic responces that I had already tried anyway.

I ended up having to un-install the new firefox, and go back to 1.5.0.12. Now the internet browsing works fine like before. Any Ideas?
 
Strange...I updated to 2.0.0.4 last night and all has been well...
 
The oddest thing about it was it affected BOTH browsers.:confused:
 
Alright, I'm getting P.O.'d

I tried using it on my other computer, and it doesn't work either. The only difference is that this time it's not affecting IE.
AND now after re-installing 1.5.0.12........it still doesn't work. Guess I'm stuck with IE for a while.
