problem with new/old build

Ok heres the problem, I am using some older part to put together a server but I cannot get it to work.
Everything turns on but there is no video to be seen, the led on the monitor stays amber.
MS-6337LE5 motherboard
albatron ti-4200p turbo
celeron 500
256mb pc133


I have used everything in the past and it worked before so I'm not sure whats wrong now, I would guess its the video card thats causing the problems although its only been about 2 weeks since I last used it. anyone have an idea of what to try?
 
try clearing cmos.. and if that won't help at all - try different vid card - although you'd have prolly tried that if you had one.. also - I'm not familiar with that mobo - is it socket370 or slot1 and you're using a slocket? if you're using a slocket make sure that it's properly seated in the slot...
 
yea its a socket 370, I already tried clearing the cmos and reseting the cpu, I didn't have another video card available to test it, I think that might be the problem.

Would there be a problem with the agp slot with a newish video card and an older motherboard? Somthing with the voltage being different? or am I not remembering correctly.

You can put a newer vid card say @ 1.5 voltage in a socket 370.

But you *can't* put an older vid card with voltage @3.3 etc. in a newer P4 board etc. etc.

yeah - I've seen some compatibility issues with older mobos and newer vid cards..
