Ok, built a system with my buddy and we're having trouble installing WinXP.

System specs are:
AMD 3200
ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe
512 DDR RAM
120G HHD
Radeon 9800 Pro
CD/RW
DVD ROM

When 1st starting computer, it will post normal (one beep). It will prompt us to either enter "Set Up" or "AWD Flash" from disc.

We entered set up and went into BIOS to check some settings. Only thing we changed was the boot sequence. We made: 1.CD/ROM, 2. HHD, 3. Floopy.
We also disabled floopy because we don't have one.
We saved changes and re-booted with the WinXP CD in the drive. Now, it goes through the same sequence and ends up on a screen saying "Checking computer hardware configuration". After that, the screen goes blank and thats it..........nothing.

We tried this several times with the same results. It seems to me to be booting extremely slow.

Anyone have any ideas cause we're lost. TIA

Thanks for the link. We tried several things and are leaning towards a faulty mobo.
When we finally find a fix, we'll post.
