Hello everyone, I just picked up a BFG 6800 GT and Im having a problem with it. When playing games Im finding glitching problems in the background of my games. Specifically Far Cry and Call to Duty Expansion. Im using the new drivers and its not overclock at all. Anyone know how to fix this?

what do you mean glitching? like artifacts? can you post a screen shot? What version drivers you using?

Its hard to describe what the problem is, for example in Far Cry, a portion of the trees and forest in the background seem like there disapearing for like a mili-second. In Call of Duty pieces of buildings do the same thing, pieces of buildings glitch white ver fast. Also my screen in Call of Duty seems very shaky. I had a 5900 FX before this card and had no trouble playing these games.

also I got a 420w Power Supply, I think thats enough, but just so you guys know

what u can do open up the case and make sure the card is in the slot right,
then uninstall all the drivers for the card then install them agian.
when u in stall the drivers make sure your anit virus is off,
nivaida says to turno ff the anit viuse it can mess it up.
and what temps are u runing it
your case might not have enough air in it.
hope this helps.
if this dont help call up bfg they can help u better

reseating the card, turn off the computer, pull the card out, blow out the slot with a can of compressed air, and put the card back in, make sure the card sits all the way into the slot and the lock fully latches.

*edit* Tazz beat me to it

Im not really sure why its so high, like I said I dont have it OC'd at all, except for it being OC'd stock from BFG

well, haha, that's a big difference...anywho, reinstalling drivers would probably be the best thing to do...i would uninstall in windows and then reboot. use drivercleaner to remove any traces. Then reinstall the new drivers. If that doesn't work, try reinstalling games/patches and try other games.

I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the drivers. Same problem, Im running out of ideas on what it could be.

Try a reinstall of the OS ? Might be extreme but you can be sure to remove most of the causes and make it work better.

Well I finnaly figured it out, when I set my CPU Speed back at stock, my games work fine. I had it clocked at 2.3ghz from 2.0 stock. The weird thing is the games worked fine until one day they started screwing up so I never thought it was my OC which was the problem. Anyway Im glad that there working now, thanks for the help everyone

It wasn't your OC, then. Sounds like your AGP slot was running out of spec, which is what happens if you don't have a working AGP/PCI frequency lock enabled when you OC.

I have a 3.0C P4 OCed to 3.6 and my BFG 6800GT works fine because I enabled the AGP/PCI lock in my BIOS. Do the same in your BIOS, and you should be able to regain your OC.

This may sound stupid but I cant find the AGP/PCI lock in my BIOS. Could it be called something else?
