Problem with new 6850 card??

I recently installed a Sapphire 6850 gpu and downloaded the Dirt 3 game that came with it. I am having problems every time I play though. It either freezes and closes or I get the BSOD. Is this something wrong with my card or the game? I've run Futuremark and everything seems to be working fine so I'm leaning towards something wrong with the game. Is there a way to re-install it?
BTW, I've checked and I have the latest drivers installed.

UPDATE: I'm now having another problem I've noticed. I have a "thunderstorm" screensaver- lightning bolts/rain/etc.- and now even that is doing funky things. It starts off and runs fine but after a certain time I get weird artifacts and where the rain drops are they are essentially black rectangles falling. Is it looking more like something is wrong with my card? What is the best test to run so i can check it? Do I maybe have a setting screwed up somewhere?
I will say that when running Futuremark Burn-in the temp showed it got up to about 78C. Is that too high???

can anyone give me any suggestions? I'm trying to uninstall the AMD vision control center to see if that helps but haven't been able to. I have Revo Uninstaller but that program doesn't show up anywhere. Also, I notice in gpu Shark, it shows 4 different gpu states. Is there a way to disable this to keep it permanently in it's highest "state"?

Futuremark can get that hot with a 6850.

And uhh don't know how you installed amd VISION control center, as that is the integrated gpu version of AMD Catalyst control center.

Get the latest Catalyst (12.2) alongside the cap 12.1 here:

Also dunno what that gpu shark is, because 6850's only have 3 power states, not 4.

You have to make a profile with overdrive activated on CCC, then edit it (it is on users\your user\app data\local\ati\profiles ), the different wants are the power states, and you will see 3 there, the first is 2d single monitor, the other is 2d multimonitor/video and the 3rd is 3d)

Well, I uninstalled everything I possibly could and installed from the links you provided. AMD Vision Engine got installed again. I'm really running out of things to try... :(
EDIT: I misread. There are 3 states listed.

You might even try stock CPU clocks also? Maybe adding a different GPU made something not as stable as before.

My psu is an Antec Eco 520W and my previous gpu was an HD4670. All my settings are set to stock, even my CPU(which I was overclocking). Is 520 watts not enough???

520watts should be enough, but the only way to be sure is by checking the 12v rating. It should be at least 25amps.

Ok! I think I finally fixed it. After looking online at the specs for my PSU, it appears the two PCI-E connectors have two different watt ratings- the 6-pin is a 75 watt, and the 6+2-pin is a 150 watt. I was using the 6-pin so I switched to the 6+2 and it appears to be working fine now. My son played Dirt 3 for about 15 minutes with no problems.
Sorry for some of the dumb questions but thanks for everyone's input! I'll be back if something else goes wrong... :D

Great you got it working! Curious what kind of resolution you are using on the 6850? Anyhow, enjoy your new card!

Thanks. I sure was at a loss on what else to try. I'm using it on a 1440x900 monitor but I also have it connected to my 42" HDTV. I haven't checked it out on the tv yet though.
