C2D 2.13ghz
2GB RAM
Vista 32-bit Home
Visiontek Radeon HD 4850 card.
I've owned this card since the very day it was released, which I think was back in July. I purchased it from Buy.com and got it a week before most other people when Buy.com made a mistake and sold it a week earlier than the street date.
I've had absolutely no problems at all with this card until October 17th when I downloaded Catalyst Control Center 8.10 with the latest driver.
I've made no hardware or major software changes at all in this PC.
The problem is when I play World of Warcraft, I'm occasionally getting something that sounds like the card is shutting down, then the screen goes blank and flashes for 1-2 seconds, then it comes back to normal. It seems to happen in spurts. I might play for an hour and have it not happen. Or it may happen as much as 7-8 times in a 5 minute period. When I close the game to the desktop I see error messages that say the video card driver stopped working temporarily but is now working correctly.
I don't have this problem with any other application that I use. WoW is the only game I play so I don't have anything else to test it on.
I rolled back to the previous driver version, and disabled CCC and I still have the problem.
I've done a google search and can't find a whole lot out there about this problem either.
