 Ok... im to the point of frustration and agravation! i had a geforce 2 ultra and I decided to upgrade my comp to a FX 5500 just so i could use the DVI connector. My geforce 2 ultra would recognize the resolution of the monitor when pluged up to the VGA but this new card does not... in fact, it says that my maximum resolution in the flat panel display section of the drivers says it is 1280x1024 when my monitor supports 1920x1200. I get these big black ugly bars on the side because it thinks i have a 4:3 monitor when infact i have a 16:10. I thought ok, ill custom resolution... so I input 1920x1200 and i still have the damn black bars except now my destop is bigger and i have to scroll to the side with my mouse! I tried stretching the image but that doesnt work, i tried in the monitor settings and that doesnt work. The problem is the drivers think im using a 1280x1024 monitor! What do I do?! I downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidia an no dice. I also downloaded my monitor drivers and still no luck.

Somewhere on this forum I have read about that several times...always someone using the Nvidia card though. And, again if I recall it had a lot to do with who made the card.

I know ATI didn't seem to have this issue, might wanna try one of those.

im about to take it back to the store if i dont get it working tonight! It stays in a pan and scan instead of scaling it to the monitor. Damn nvidia! Damn them!

evidently its a driver problem with the nvidia cards. I wonder if the beta of 61.80 fixes the problem?

dont know if this will help or not, but try installing the driver that comes in the cd.

also try this to test, connect to the video cards vga to the monitors dvi, see if you get the res now. If so, maybe the cards dvi just aint gonna cut it.

bah screw it... im just going to pay 60 bucks more for a powercolor radeon 9800 OEM

yeah i already saw that link and tried what they said but still no success. Its for the best anyways. I didnt know that the 9800 came OEM. Since im not wanting to spend over 160 it worked out nicely. Im returing the card and buying the the 9800 from newegg

i just hope this new radeon card works fine... anyone else use a radeon 9800 with their L2335?

It will work fine, I think a couple people do. I myself use a 9600

ATi cards don't seem to have any problem. I finally got some response from nVIDIA on the matter but they wouldn't give me a firm answer as to whether or not they would fix the problem. They did say they would fix the 1280x720 -> 1280x768 scaling bug, but that's not what I'm complaining about. :(
