My brother was playing Oblivion a few weeks ago and he crashed/got a blue screen of doom. After that, any game he's tried to play has frozen or been extremely slow. He reformatted after it happened. He didn't try to play any other games since this happened, but today we both purchased World of Warcraft to play. It loaded and played the intro video with no problems, but after the video finished, he got another blue screen.
The error message on the blue screen says that a device got stuck in an infinite loop, and to check the device manager and make sure his driver was up to date etc. (it is).
He has a dell xps something or other. Q6600, GeForce 8800 GT's in SLI. I'm assuming the problem has something to do with his video cards, because he can use the internet and Microsoft Office fine for his papers etc., but have no idea what the problem could be.
Did his video cards get fried maybe? If that was the case, wouldn't the issues carry over to more than just games?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
