Problem with GTX 560Ti

I'm having problems in a recent build with an ASUS GTX 560Ti.

The computer occasionally freezes and has to be hard reset. Often this happens when watching Flash videos or playing games. I've also identified a problem with artifacting on Aero, although I'm not sure if this is the right term in this case since the artifacts seem to 'stick' to a specific location and stay there even when a window is moved around.

I've tried reinstalling the drivers and running a couple of stress tests with OCCT but that doesn't crash the computer or yield artifacts. Does anybody have a clue what it might be?

Motherboard: Gigabyte SKT-1155 PA65-UD3-B3
Processor: Intel 2500K

Thanks

Is your cpu overclocked? (I can't see sigs, mobile site)

Sometimes my shit freezes when using firefox, but I can game for hours and nothing flinches. I don't get it either.

Nope, everything is stock. As I said I've tried all sorts of stress tests but none of them show any problems. It's just that the computer occasionally freezes (as often as every day) and has to be reset.

All 28x.xx drivers have been terribly unstable for me.

My System is bulletproof on 275.33. Run those.

my system is a MIV GeneZ, 2600k, and Asus GTX 560ti DCII.

Thanks, I'll give that a go. When you say they've been unstable, do you mean you've been having similar issues with freezing and artifacts?

I've now swapped the GTX 560Ti out for an ATI 5850 and the problems continue so I've ruled out the graphics card. Does anybody have any ideas for what it could be?

Try running Furmark? Just sit there and wait while it does its work because it pushes the temps extremely high, far higher than any game.
