I am attempting to build an new system but have run into a problem with this video card.
Here are my system specs:

AMD Athlon 3500+
ABIT AV8 Motherboard
Gainward GeForce 6800 GT
Enermax 550W Power Supply

When I attempt to start the computer I get the following BIOS error code:

#25 - Which in the ABIT book is:

Early PCI Initialization:
-Enumerate PCI bus number.
-Assign memory & I/O resource.
-Search for a valid VGA device & VGA BIOS, and put it into C000:0

New video card works fine in my old computer, no problems at all. My old video card works in my new system, no problems at all.

I just can't get my new video card to work in my new system.

I have updated the bios on my motherboard but that didn't seem to do anything.

Anyone have any ideas?

I've heard nothing but good things about the gainward golden sample from everyone I know. Bad batch maybe?

AMEN!

Gainward Golden Sample's are the only way to go for the best of that platform!!

Not to mention that your problem and this guys problems are completely different...

monarch computers, but in their defence their customer support has been great.no questions asked, just rma it! i went and borrowed a bfg 5500 oc,d card just to see how it goes so far after one day ok ,it aint no 6800gt but it aint bad.

irq,s?? not sure what ya mean by that but if yer askin anything else on the power chain with the v.c. nope,it all by itself i found these cards are power hungry and my thermaltake psu is only18a on the 12v rail i know a guy who,s on his second bfg 6800gt and its starting to fail he,s got a 420thermaltak psu im thinking of getting a ocz 470 its 32a on the 12v

IRQ = Interrupt Request..

Pretty much, I'm wondering if you have any PCI cards installed that might be sharing motherboard resources with your AGP slot.. But, as it's been discussed in other threads, your current PSU seems suspect since it's only giving 18a on the 12v..

Probably way before your time building computers we used to have to worrie about irq conflict you can always tell a person years in computing when they say what is a IRQ .. LOL :D

Yea, atleast I don't have to explain what the problems are of not having a UART 16550 chip on your serial port is, anymore.. lol! :D
