Problem with fps

Ok recently I reinstalled windows and something happend to something...
There is the problem, my FPS are extremly low for my setup, first game I installed and tried was CS:Source

My setup +3200venice, 2gb of G.Skill ram and evga 7800gt co

When I ran a stress test on highest settings posible in options 1280x1024 everything maxed out I got 118fps and my video card set to performance with antirosophic and Antialiasing off....
Then I ran at the lowest settings possible 640x480 everything off in options... and I got 125fps...

First did you install the drives in the right order.

Chipset and then everything else.

Second what video drivers are you know using because I have basically the same setup. Unfortunately I don't have CSS. But the last couple sets of drivers have seemed to smooth out games play but have taken away the raw speed.

Also remember at the lowest possible settings the CPU becomes the bottleneck and at high Res the Video Card becomes the bottleneck.

What scores where you getting before.

I used to be in 200s... and now during the game play they drop to 40s-50s then back to 100s and to 70s... no matter what the settings are...

and something changed with evega web-site I used to download drivers direct from their web site, and now it redirects me to download them from Nvidia....

I have AbitSLi KN8 MB... Installed those drivers first... but I just installed those that came with it... sound drivers... video drivers I downloaded and then directX 9c that I couldn't install cuz it always its already isntalled... and I don't think I have any other drivers...

IMO with the setup you have thats not that low, in my sig setup with no filtering AAx4 and everything else maxed i get about 160-165 in the stress test. I had a bitch of a studder until I installed drivers for my processor too.

if they would be stable in 100s I would be satisfied but they keep on jumping sometimes to 40s... and those jumps creates LAG... and LAG = NO FUN...

I never knew there were drivers for proccessors...
The drivers i have for video card are 93.71

Well its not really a driver, more of a fix for AMD dual cores. Its in the drivers section of the website though.

AMD Does have an actual driver for the Athlon 64 available.

did more research and found that other people with simular set up have the same problem usually the ones that have 3200+ and 7800GT...

My frames jump all over the place with a 3200+ and 7800GT to but I have always attributed it to my gig of RAM not being enough. I know my old X700 still feels smoothers but it cant give the res and the detail.

K guys I found the problem ... I downloaded new drivers from abit web site for my MB... and it made all the difference... No more lag on Dust I'm usually in 100s doesn't go lower then 75.... dust2 100-140... when standing still jumps to 200s...

The drivers i have for video card are 93.71

I had same issues with my FPS when I downloaded those same drivers 93.71, and actually had the games freeze after about 10 minutes of play. I went back to 91.47 driver for my card, and everything works great, no lag, no freeze ups, smoother game play.

run a 3dmark05 to test if there was a difference between 2... and with older drivers scored 100more... can't see any changes during the game play
