Card in question: eVGA 5700LE
(OMGWTFBBQ slow card!!!111, yeah yeah, it's actually not that bad, and I got it pretty cheap plus a rebate, and I'll be using the eVGA Step-up to a 6600GT when those come out)
Monitor: Hitachi CML175S
Problem: I get this weird red- or green-pixel "static" in darker areas of images.
And, it only does this at 1280x1024, and only with the DVI connection.
I've tried 2 5700LEs now, and 2 different DVI cables.
I tried both the drivers that came on the CD (4x.xx series) and the latest NVIDIA drivers, and neither solved the issue.
I put my old card back in and didn't notice the problem at all, so I don't think it's the monitor.
Picture that, except there's about 10x more static in the mid/dark areas.
Anyone seen this kind of thing before?
(No, the card is not overclocked... it did this from the moment I plugged it in (on both cards)
Although just for fun, I did try CoolBits and the card does overclock nicely from 250/400 to 300/500
