Problem with DS3 and new build

So I just got done building a new computer and I decided to use this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128042

and when I turned it on I saw that the cpu fan would start but the computer itself didn't boot at all, like my monitor would not even show a signal from the video card. At that point I thought it might be the video card but I tested that out on my other computer and thats not it. Then I tested the memory and that wasn't it either. So now I'm thinking something might be wrong with the motherboard but I don't know if there's anything I can do to fix it or if I should RMA it. Also, connecting the IDE DVD drive I have to the mobo makes it not open at all, I tested it with just the power cable and it opened then though. Anyone know what might be wrong here?

Thanks

and btw, the cpu is an e4300

Are all power connectors seated properly/connected?? These can be a bit funny especially on new motherboards. Takes alot of force to put these babies in. Make sure you have power going to your video if need be..

Highly unlikely but make sure your CMOS battery didnt come loose during shipping.

Make sure you have no case shorts on your motherboard.

Do you have a speaker hooked up for beep codes? It might be the memory. I have PQI turbo that works fine in my DS3 if the voltage is raised, but wouldn't the system wouldn't post at all (like yours) at default bios settings.

Okay, so it turns out it was the 12v connection above the cpu I forgot to connect. But after I did connect it theres still another problem, when I try to turn it on it will give me the continuous short beeps which per the manual means that there is a power error. However, I then used the power supply from my main rig which has been working flawlessly for months now and it still gave me the short beeps. The only thing I can think that might still be the problem from reading around is my ram, since its rated for 2.0 volts. Anyone else with suggestions?

Thanks

Once again that matches my experience when I set up the board. My search through different forums was that if you re-seat the video card it may resolve the problem. Does your video card also require a power connector?

As it turned out this wasn't my problem. It was that the PQI ram wouldn't post at the default settings even though it tested fine on another board. The power error beep code only lead me in the wrong direction, which is probably the same in your case.
