Well basically i'm getting little crashes now and then similar to this one right here. (this one was internet explorer crashing)

and i don't know what's causing it and was wondering if anyone had any ideas, especially whether it's my cpu. well I'm not really overclocking, except my ram which is stock at 3-3-3-8 im running at 2.5-3-3-6, but other than that every thing else is at stock speeds for absolute stability. Problem is sometimes i can run Prime95's torture test for hours on end and sometimes i run PrimeNEt and will get an error somewhere between the 5th sequence and 12th sequence.

Here are my Sandra Benchnumbers, which aren't so great. They fluctuate above a comparable cpu and below, but generally below.

If anyone could help me resolve this issue or has any input, it will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks:)

do you still get the errors if you set the ram timings to default?

yeah, i sitll get the errors and it appears not to be a ram issue. However, even with default timings i sometimes get minidump errors. I've searched msn's database and they are much help. I was thinking perhaps my IDE settings in the BIOS has something to do with it? I have an IDE ultra ATA 133 Maxtor drive and it by default sets it to SATA. I changed it to PATA and this would switch my hard drive and cd roms to the 4th IDE groups when they are normally the Primary and Seconday.

Are bad benches reason enough to RMA a cpu while its in warranty?

I'd start thinking simpler. Your OS for starters. Have you installed anything new recently? Check your system for spyware. If there is one thing that can crap up a good machine its that.

well, i have spybot and ad-aware. and they aren't reporting anything. what kind of problems would the OS have?
