Problem with black speaker port..

Hi I just finished setting up my new z640 speakers and I have already purchased a Y-splitter in advanced.. I plan to use my headset and my speakers simultaneously but the black audio port on my computer doesn't seem to work.. I attached the Y-splitter to the green port and it seems to work fine.. for my speakers and my headset.. The only problem is the black audio port.. My motherboard is the Abit MAX-3 mobo.. All upgraded to the latest drivers.. Some help please? Currently.. I'm using my speakers along with the Y-splitter and I don't want to purchase anothe Y-splitter for my headset.. Thanks in advanced
 
Why don't you use the headphone jack on the center channel of the Z640's? You don't need ANY Y-splitters then.
 
Haha I'm not racist.. and the headphone jack in the z640 is WAY too far.. seriously.. lol wayyy too far
 
I'm confused. Isn't the standard speaker output the green jack? Why are you trying to use the black jack? If the green one works fine then why not just use that? I keep rereading your post but I must still be missing something.

okay. sorry. back to the thread. but for right now i'm in agreement with jpmkm. can't you just use the green jack?
 
The black jack on your soundcard will give you an ear full of center-channel on one side and an ear full of Bass effects on the other if you're using headphones.

Use the green jack, its stereo L/R.

Also.... why do you want to wear headphones while listening to the same thing on your speakers? :confused: It's not gonna give you 7.1 lol.
 
Umm its not that I want to do 7.1.. But its just taht I switch over to using my headset very often right after listening to music because I use my headset for gaming.. So yeah.. I think i got it.. Its just that I don't hear the rear left/right speakers when using winamp.. any help on that now??
 
Do you have hardware acceleration enabled for the Winamp output plugin?
Speaking of which, what plugin's are you using?
