problem with biostar tforce 6100 939

My boss has this board. we have 2 300 gig seagate satas hooked to the sata ports. with the ports setup for raid and the arry configured (mirroring or stripping doesn't matter) and using the raid drivers, hit f6 during setup, feed it driver floppy and specify the 2 nvidia drivers, the raid arry doesn't get recognized. if i turn raid OFF the drives get seen as 2 300 gig drives and windows (xp pro x64) can be installed but NOT if they are in an array. I tried the "old" regualer x32 version of xp pro and get the same results as with X64. I've upgraded the bios on the mobo to the latest version no change.
