I have these really old polk audio speakers, so they have an orange plug at the end that connects into the computer.

Problem is, theres no orange connector to my motherboard! So I plugged them into the green one and now they are not responding. Can someone help?

System specs:

Athlon 64 3200+ Venice
Thermaltake tsunami VA3000B case
ASUS A8V-E Deluxe mobo
nvidia geforce 6800GT
antec truepower 550w PSU
2GB of pqi turbo RAM 3-4-4-8 (1GBx2)
120GB of S-ATA Hard drive
 
Make sure the speakers work, plug them into an mp3 or a cd player or something. Plug some headphones into the motherboard to see if the output is working. It will be easier to diagnose your problem as soon as you discover what is causing it.
 
Okay, I took my brother's Dell speakers (Which have a green plug and a power supply for them) Set them up and put them on my computer. But for some reason I am still not getting sound!

My motherboard is recognizing that it's there......but no sound is playing. And I know that these speakers work.

I've tried everything. My drivers are all good, and the speakers are unmuted and everything. Any suggestions?
 
did you post about this before?

Do you know specifically what "type" of cables you are using, and not just the "color".

Because after all, the red sports car is better then the yellow one, Obviously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Yes it is, I've checked.

And I figured out that the speakers with their own power adapters are line-out, which are lime-green in color.

Well I guess you could check for all the obvious things... like possibly you have the volume on the sound manager turned all the way down or muted etc. Could check through all the driver device settings as well to make sure there are no issues there.
 
Yes, I did.

I also have an integrated sound card if that helps at all
