i got my x800 xt agp and i heard that you could mod it to a x850 xt agp so i tried it and it wouldn't boot up or anything or even go to post, can someon help me?

i don't think it's burned cus it doesn't smell burned, i think the bios is messed up

did you save the old bios? also if you got an error trying to flash and restarted your comp, that could mess things up. anyway, if the flashing went wrong and you saved the old bios, then hook up a pci video card and boot your comp with that card, and flash the bios of your x800xt back to the old one, should work fine.

I hope you get it to work.

Don't flash if you're not a 1337 H@x0r. Trust me, don't take a chance you others!

i've alredy tried those but i when i put the pci and agp together it won't pass post at all, it just stays there

I put it as initial graphics adapter as pci so I can try to boot to my old graphics card, but it didn't boot with the agp in there also, so what do you think i should do?

i moved the pci to all of them it's not a problem with the pci something with the agp i think, i contacted sapphire but i flashed the bios and i don't think they will reapair it.

i got the rma number and i was told it will take up to 3-5 weeks for it to go through hong kong and shit to get fixed or replaced, it's gay how they won't let me buy the new x850 insted of getting another x800, but if there is anyone who can help me fix this before i send it, it would be great

thanx

Considering they are willing to RMA that thing since you fucked it up....

You should be kissing their ass not the other way around.

I agree that is rather odd that they would RMA it...
I dunno I could never buy such expensive cards (6800GT 6800U X800XT X800XTPE) and then change something as big as the bios... I just dont have the courage or resources.

they don't know what i did but i sent it to them and it was recieved by them yesterday at arround 12 midnight

why would you flash a x800 xt to a x850? ;/ You should be happy you have a x800xt :D

ya i know i have one of the great cards already, but i have this thing that i need the best and i want the best so i tried to get it higher without buying the new one lol

You say they do not know what you did, good luck! They are smart enough to manufacture the card,I would think their RMA dept. would be smart enough to check the BIOS,you think?

I doubt it. Alos, how would they check it if it wont even post?

I killed a mobo like that and had it rma'd. I told them what I did and they just said to send it back.

I have sapphire x800xt(moded from x800pro VIVO), and I have 80 degrees in full load. Is this big? Before flashing I have 75 degrees in full load....So if it big temperature what cooler do you recomment me?

they sent me a new card, LOL i'm so lucky

You are lucky. Who told you that you could mod an x800xt to an x850? I'm pretty sure that they are 2 entirely different cores, you just can't do it. Hope you don't try that again.
