Hope someone can help me out here, kind of lost. If nothing else perhaps a pointer in the right direction to get help.

My problem:
I tried to upgrade an old computer (winXP, PIII, 1Ghz, 512 RAM) with a "new" geForce FX 5200 graphicscard but this fails real hard

I first uninstall my old card (geForce 2 MX) and put in the new one. Upgrade with the latest drivers and everything looks great. Then I run a dxdiag and when trying to run the direct3D test the system hangs. The same goes when running the openGL test.

Anyone here have any idea on what is wrong with my system?

I have tried the FX5200 on my friends comp. and it works flawless. My motherboard only support AGP 2X but this shouldn´t be any problem since the card is supposed to support AGP 2X, 4X and 8X or?
