I am working on my mothers computer and while trying to put her Microsoft Money backup from the floppy and back on the computer it says that the file is corrupt. I downloaded a program that is supposed to fix corrupted money backups but when I drag the backup to the program it locks up. So I tried dragging the backup to my desktop and it says I cannot copy the backup from that specific device. Backup backup backup, I figured I said that word enough that I should say it 3 more times.

Can someone please, please, tell me how to fix this? This is the only copy and if doesn't work my mother will cry.

Hrm... You could attempt a disk repair, but, that seems to cause curruption even when it shouldn't (eg when the damaged sectors aren't in the file itself, which usually doesn't cause such a problem, but, it happened to me once unless the disk repair program lied.) Probably what I'd suggest is you get a program that can make disk images such as WinImage and read the disk into it. If it's not WinImage, you may need to write to a new disk with that image. If it is WinImage, then you should just be able to extract the file you want. This won't guarantee the file will be undamaged however. It merely tries to minimize curruption long enough to hopefully get it into that repair program. Even then it's possible you could loose everything in it if the right parts are damaged.
