i have a 8800GTX that i believe is messed up. on boot up it shows letters are all scrambled and windows boot logo is yellow or purple and just goes out after. all the caps arent showing being blown. what could be the problem with this. i also tried applying new thermal paste.

The problem is that it's a 4 year old video card showing its age.

Which 8800GTX do you have? You could try baking it as mentioned above me. In most cases it has a fairly high success rate.

XFX? Did you register the card? If so send it in for RMA and get a new card. The card has a lifetime warranty, go on and use it.

yea i registered it but i dont have an invoice which they are asking for

Buy it local or just forget where you bough it online? There is a XFX support agent here on the forums. Maybe he can help you out. Link. Shoot him a PM.
