problem with 6800 card

Set up a barebones 754 system for older games. Used a new asus ti-4200 1x/2x/4x/8x card, it would only boot up using ms drivers for vidio card. tried different nvidia drivers with same results. put an 8500 ati card in, booted up, installed drivers, and everything worked fine, except colors were off in games. ordered a 6800 card last week. after installing I get the same results I got with the ti-4200. card is identified correctly in bios and on setting panel, but the only settings it shows are 6, 256, 16 bit, 480x640,800x600, and 1080x768. if I try to change from 6 colors and 640x480, settings won't change. hope someone can tell me what could be wrong

Windows ME is the devil. :p

Not trying to be an ass, but Win ME is the worst OS ever. Using it may be one of your problems.

I am using a 5 year old Z90 optiquest monitor. The colors were good on my old computer.
I used different drivers on the vidio cards but not on the monitor.
