Problem: Windows Can't Update?

I just recently tried updating my Laptop PC (Specs in sig) and Windows Update gave me an error code followed by a message: "Windows can not update." and that's all it said. I do not know what to do, and I even tried consulting the Microsoft Forums for assistance but people are not "complaining", if you will, about the same error code but about (nearly) the same problem.

Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks!

Try it again later. When I have problems with Vista updating that always seems to work.

check the updates that uve already installed and see if any failed

Thank you both for your replies:

@ mnewxcv: I have checked updated before these and none have failed.
@ GrapeSoda: I have tried numerous times to update, and it still fails.

Try this: open your command prompt and type

regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wups2.dll

when you see a sucess prompt, try your update again. Just to be safe, delete your temporary internet files too so you won't reuse old cache.
