I tried upgrading my power supply from 200w to 350w, but my computer wouldn't work. The power light was flashing yellow instead of glowing green, and I don't know what that means. I put the old power supply back in and it works, and now I'm here. This is the power supply I'm trying to put in. http://www.fspgroupusa.com/PC_RETAIL/FSP35060BNS/FSP35060BNS.html

It might have something to do with me having a dell. I have a Dimension 2400, with a few upgrades. Help?

You could have had a bad unit. I would suggest a Corsair 450VX instead.

Rember google is your friend. :)

Wow, what an insightful post.

I gave him a link to a troubleshooting diagram. You gave him a link to a PSU that is out of his price range. The whole point of me posting that was to bump up his post anyways. Im the one that picked the PSU for him. keke.

I see no where that he posted a price range. If you can find it, please let me know, because I do not see it. No need to flame me for making a recommendation. Besides, FSP units have quite the variation in how well they are made, Corsairs are better made.

I got it working. I plugged in all the connectors thoroughly, and I plugged the computer directly into the wall instead of using a power strip, and it it turned on. There's one thing though, and I don't know if it's ok. I have to hold down the power button on the front of the computer while I flip on the power switch on the power supply in order for the computer to turn on. Is this normal?

About that power supply you suggested, protias. That looks like a good deal. It has all the connectors I need, and it's only $14.98 more than the power supply I have, but I don't think I need it. The main reason I upgraded my power supply was for a graphics card that required a 250W power supply, so this 350w should be just fine.
