Problem streaming movies

So this is pretty particular....I took a friend's computer and installed/formatted a new HDD and installed new memory. New WinXP SP3 install. This past weekend, the thing worked like a charm. He called me last night saying that when he streams movies, they stay on for about 15-20 minutes, and then microsoft sounds the "error beep" and the movie stops dead. IE is still usable, however, so it's not frozen. Just the movie stops dead. Problem is, no error shows up. He insists he did not change anything this weekend to cause this. Any ideas? Thanks.
